Eric Ries : build product customers want to use

I started to read last week, The Lean Startup from Eric Ries, which explains how an organization can reach the market by shorten product development cycle, validated learning, rapid scientific experimentation.
I am already convinced that the hard work in software development is to NOT develop ....
quoting Eric
I Had committed the biggest waste of all: building a product that our customers refused to use.
This is not far from the idea of pretotyping

Alberto Savoia here, author of "Pretotype It". I had the pleasure of meeting Eric Ries a few months ago. His startup experiences and mine are remarkably similar – we both experienced the "perfecting a product that not enough people wanted" – so it's not surprising that we had the same epiphany. Eric's book is great, I give a copy to all attendees to my pretotyping and lean innovation workshops at Google.
Alberto thanks for your comment, I am a fan or your pretotyping ideas, did not had a chance to practice it yet, but hope the day will come.
